Sydney, May 12, 2008: Ogilvy Public Relations Australia has appointed a raft of senior specialists to further bolster its strategic planning strengths in response to market demand.

The appointments, made across a number of Ogilvy PR’s specialist businesses, come in the wake of strong growth for the company within the B2B, health and consumer PR offerings over the past 12 months.

“We’ve seen solid demand for Ogilvy PR’s model of providing specialist services within the framework of a larger, world-leading public relations organisation,” said Ogilvy PR’s Executive Director, Samantha Allen.

“In response to this demand, we’re thrilled to be welcoming such experienced senior specialists, further deepening our credentials within our core business areas, while providing the kind of strategic planning and counsel we are renowned for,” she said.

The first of the new hires, Jacqueline Scott, joins Ogilvy PR’s Consumer Marketing business, Pulse Communications, as Client Services Director.  Her role will primarily focus on driving Pulse’s reputation for excellence in all elements of client satisfaction, from innovation in execution through to insight-led ideas and depth of strategic planning.  With more than 10 years experience in consumer PR, Jacqueline has developed high profile campaigns in both Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Pulse, Jacqueline was Head of Mass and Brand PR at Vodafone Australia, where she was responsible for the reputation management of the brand.

Kate Mulcare also joins Pulse in the position of Strategy & Planning Director, a new role that reflects the increased importance of strategic planning capabilities at a senior level.  Kate has worked in London, Sydney and LA in consumer lifestyle PR on a range of entertainment, beauty, food, FMCG & global campaigns.  In 2000, she joined a Sydney consumer PR agency, where she was most recently Director of Client Services, working on the launch of 3 in Australia, Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, Clearasil, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Shopping.com.

Ogilvy’s dedicated healthcare communications company, Ogilvy PR Health has also made two senior appointments to enhance its leadership in the health setting.

Daniella Goldberg has been appointed as Senior Account Manager, bringing more than ten years of experience in media and communications specialising in health and life sciences. Since completing her doctorate at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Daniella has worked on TV health programs, been published in science, medical and business magazines and led PR campaigns for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

In addition, Kevin Silverman has joined Ogilvy PR Health after six years in the company’s New York office. A specialist in global and US healthcare public relations, Kevin has worked on trailblazing campaigns in the areas of diabetes, heart disease, men’s health, oncology, pain management, crisis communications and corporate service reputation.

Also boosting its ranks this month is Howorth, Ogilvy PR’s specialist business and technology communications firm, hiring Craig Pearce as Practice Director for its newly formed B2B practice.  A former journalist with 25 years’ media experience, Pearce has worked agency-side for clients such as BOC, EnergyAustralia, Delta Electricity and Free TV Australia, and has won numerous national PR industry awards.  Pearce will develop campaigns for organisations in the construction, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and professional services sectors, in addition to advising the firm’s new B2B clients – BlueScope Steel, Hewitt Associates, Coffey Geotechnics and Danoz Direct.

Ogilvy PR Australia is a joint venture between Ogilvy PR Worldwide and the STW Communications Group, Australia's largest marketing content and communications services group.
