OgilvyEarth playing a part in the launch of Keep Australia Beautiful Week
21 August 2008
Keep Australia Beautiful Week (25 –31st August) was launched at the Sydney Football Stadium yesterday, with a message for Sydneysiders to ‘Score Points for the Environment’ to help tackle climate change and protect our natural resources.
The launch was hosted by representatives from Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) and the National Rugby League (NRL) with celebrity ambassadors – model and actor Erin McNaught, Miss Universe Australia 2008 Laura Dundovic and Sydney Roosters’ coach Brad Fittler – on hand to talk about and promote more environmentally sustainable behaviour.
OgilvyEarth was involved in the preparation for the launch conducting a pro bono carbon footprinting and energy audit for the National Rugby League head office. This is envisaged the audit will serve as a case study and template that can be rolled out to NRL clubs around the country.
During the launch, covered by the major national broadcasters including Seven Network, Nine Network, Network TEN, Fox Sports and Radio 2GB, the NRL representative made specific mention of the audit and report OgilvyEarth had conducted and how it helped them measure their energy use and make simple yet effective changes to reduce their emissions and costs.
